Heartland Football Club of Nigeria is based in Owerri Municipal in Imo State Nigeria, the club was created in the year 1976, and is among one of Nigeria's oldest football clubs. The football club was formerly called Spartans Football Club but in the year 1985 it was changed to Iwuayanwu Nationale, and later again changed to their present-day name Heartland Football Club.
The football club has been among the top professional soccer team in Nigeria, it has featured in many Nigeria and African tournaments and championship matches, both in local, national and even international levels. The club has skilled and professional football players/team who are devoted in making the club retain its glory and prestige when it comes football champions in Nigeria.
